Western Advocate Map

Western Advocate has been the voice of the Bathurst district since 1848, providing the information that has helped the community develop and prosper. The Western Advocate is published Monday to Friday and the bumper Weekend Advocate is published on Saturday delivering local and national news to the communities of Bathurst City, Kelso, Blayney, Oberon and surrounding villages. Online is increasing with the introduction of a digital first strategy.

Located in the Macquarie Valley on the Central Tablelands of NSW, Bathurst is Australia’s oldest inland settlement. Booming in the 1850’s and 60’s with the discovery of gold, Bathurst has remained one of Australia’s fastest growing regional centres with a diverse range of industry including agriculture, engineering and education.

Education is the largest single industry in Bathurst, generating an annual turnover in excess of $110 million, with Charles Sturt University, private and public primary and secondary schools, colleges and training centres.

Bathurst is known worldwide as the home of two of the World’s greatest car races at Mount Panorama every year.

This publication uses a T84 Modular layout.
