The Shire of Moree is located in the fertile Gwydir Valley in Northern NSW. The rich black soils make large scale cultivation of crops possible. These include cotton, pecan nuts, oil seeds, oats, barley, sorghum and premium wheat.
Moree is also the artesian spa capital of Australia, and the famous hot mineral baths attract tourists from across the country. There are extensive manufacturing and support industries in the area, as well as cultural, educational, sport and recreational opportunities.
